The Eastern Double-collared Sunbird is a widely distributed and common sunbird across East Africa. Males boast a shimmering green head and throat, a vivid red breast band, and a narrow blue band below it.
Where to spot
Extremely common throughout East Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, and parts of Uganda, inhabiting various habitats such as woodlands, savannas, coastal scrub, and gardens.
How to spot
Look for it at flowering plants, especially those with tubular flowers. Its bright plumage makes it easy to spot. Listen for its high-pitched, energetic song and calls.
