Where to spot
Found in East Africa, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, and Tanzania, inhabiting dry bushland, acacia savanna, and scrub.

Look for it visiting flowering shrubs in dry habitats. The male's red breast band is a key identification feature. Listen for its high-pitched, rather simple calls.
