The White-tailed Flycatcher is a small and distinctive bird, recognized by its dark blue-grey plumage and a contrasting white tail. It is a secretive inhabitant of dense, humid montane forests.

Endemic to the Western Ghats of Southern India, found in humid evergreen and montane forests, often near streams or ravines.

When to spot
A resident species, observable year-round. Most active during the cooler parts of the day, particularly early morning. Breeding season is generally during the spring months.
