Ménétries's Warbler is a small to medium-sized warbler, with males typically showing a dark grey head, pinkish breast, and a prominent white malar stripe (moustache).
Where to spot
Breeds in dense scrub, thorny bushes, and riparian thickets in parts of the Middle East and Central Asia, migrating to Northeast Africa and the Arabian Peninsula for winter.
How to spot
Look for the male's distinctive dark head and white malar stripe. Listen for its rapid, rattling song, often delivered from within dense cover or a prominent bush.
When to spot
Best observed during the breeding season (spring/summer) when males are vocal and in brightest plumage. Also seen during migration.
