Where to spot
Endemic to the Louisiade Archipelago, off the southeastern tip of Papua New Guinea. It inhabits tropical moist lowland forests and forest edges.
How to spot
Look for its rapid, darting movements and characteristic tail-fanning as it hunts for insects. Binoculars are helpful to observe its subtle markings. Listen for its typical fantail vocalizations.
