Where to spot
Found in Northeast Africa and parts of the Arabian Peninsula, inhabiting arid rocky hills, wadis, and escarpments, often at varying altitudes.
How to spot
Search rocky outcrops, cliffs, and dry, open areas with scattered vegetation. Look for it perching prominently on rocks. Its distinctive blue and rufous plumage is a key identifier. Listen for its clear, melodious song.
When to spot
Year-round resident in its range. Most easily observed during the breeding season (spring) when males are more vocal and active in defending territories.
