Widespread across the Greater Antilles (Cuba, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Hispaniola, Turks and Caicos) and some Lesser Antilles. Inhabits forests, woodlands, plantations, and suburban areas.
How to spot
Look for its active sallying for insects from perches in trees or shrubs. Note its grayish-brown back, whitish throat, and pale yellow belly. Its distinctive calls and behavior are key identification points.
