Gray's Lark is a pale, ground-dwelling lark endemic to the hyper-arid coastal deserts of Namibia and Angola. Its plumage provides excellent camouflage against the sparse, sandy landscape.
Where to spot
Endemic to the coastal Namib Desert and adjacent gravel plains of Namibia and southwestern Angola.
How to spot
Requires careful searching in its specific desert habitat. Look for slight movements on the ground, as its plumage makes it very hard to distinguish from the environment.
When to spot
Observable year-round. Most active during the cooler parts of the day, particularly early morning.
