Where to spot
Widespread across the Amazon Basin and Guianan Shield, found in Venezuela, the Guianas, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.
How to spot
Look for it in the mid-story of primary and mature secondary forests, often as part of mixed-species flocks. Learning its vocalizations is the most effective way to locate and identify this species.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most active during the early morning and late afternoon.
