A somewhat plain apalis with grey upperparts, a paler face, and whitish underparts, subtly streaked on the breast. It has a slender build and a long tail.
Where to spot
Riparian and gallery forests, as well as dense secondary growth, in West and Central Africa, from Nigeria to Democratic Republic of Congo.
How to spot
Look for its relatively plain grey and white plumage and slender build. It is an active gleaner of insects. Listen for its high-pitched, often buzzing or trilling calls.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most active in the mornings. Breeding likely coincides with the wet season.
Gosling's Apalis is known for its preference for gallery forests along rivers and streams, where it often forms small, active foraging groups.
