Tessmann's Flycatcher (*Fraseria tessmanni*) is an African flycatcher with a generally dark, dusky-brown plumage and a somewhat paler, mottled throat. It has a relatively robust build.
Where to spot
Inhabits the understory and mid-story of humid lowland and gallery forests across West and Central Africa, including Cameroon, Gabon, and the Republic of Congo.
How to spot
Look for its dark, robust appearance. It often perches quietly on low branches, darting out to snatch insects. Its somewhat upright posture is typical. Listening for its soft, unassuming calls is helpful.
