The Florida Scrub-Jay is a unique and highly intelligent New World jay endemic to Florida, USA. It is the only bird species found exclusively in Florida.
Where to spot
Restricted to oak scrub habitats in central Florida, USA.
How to spot
To observe, visit protected scrub habitats in Florida. Look for its overall blue-grey plumage with no crest. It is remarkably tame and curious, often approaching observers.
When to spot
Active year-round during daylight hours. Most easily observed when groups are foraging on the ground.
