Boyer's Cuckooshrike is a distinctive and fairly common bird in New Guinea and surrounding islands. It is characterized by its dark grey plumage and striking yellow eye.

Widespread across New Guinea and numerous satellite islands, inhabiting various forest types, plantations, and even gardens with tall trees.

Look for it in the mid-to-upper levels of trees. The bright yellow eye against the dark grey head is a strong identification mark. Listen for its distinct, often repetitive calls.

Active throughout the day, often seen in the mid-to-upper canopy. It is a resident species, observable year-round.
This species is often seen actively foraging for insects in the canopy, sometimes joining mixed-species feeding flocks.
