The Admiralty White-eye is a species endemic to Manus Island in the Admiralty Islands of Papua New Guinea. It is a small, active bird with a prominent white eye-ring and olive-green plumage.
Where to spot
Found exclusively on Manus Island, Papua New Guinea, inhabiting forests and forest edges.
How to spot
Search for small, active birds in the canopy and mid-story. Their high-pitched, twittering calls often give away their presence.
When to spot
Active year-round, with peak foraging in the mornings and late afternoons.
This species is an important component of the unique island ecosystem of Manus, which boasts a high degree of endemic species.
