Where to spot
Endemic to the Fiji archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. It is typically found in mature native forests and sometimes in secondary growth areas, from coastal lowlands to higher elevations.
How to spot
Look for its dark silhouette perched high in the canopy of tall trees or flying purposefully between forest patches. Listening for its distinctive deep, booming call is often the first way to detect its presence.
When to spot
Most active during early mornings and late afternoons when foraging for fruits. It can be observed year-round within its range.
