Where to spot
Endemic to the southwestern Arabian Peninsula, primarily in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Inhabits arid acacia woodlands and juniper forests in mountainous regions.
How to spot
Look for it foraging on acacia trees in wadis and mountain slopes. Its pale plumage can blend with dry vegetation, so listen for its drumming and calls. Binoculars are helpful for observation in its often sparse habitat.
