The Rusty-fronted Spinetail is a distinctive ovenbird with a rufous forehead and throat, endemic to the dry forests of northeastern Brazil.
Where to spot
Dry thorny scrub and caatinga woodland in northeastern Brazil.
How to spot
Look for its rusty forehead and throat patch. Listen for its characteristic, often accelerating, calls. It usually forages low in dense, thorny bushes.
When to spot
Year-round. More vocal during the breeding season. Best observed during cooler parts of the day.
