Where to spot
Found in the Guianas (Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana) and northern Brazil, with some populations extending into Venezuela and Colombia. Inhabits forest clearings, edges, gallery forests, and savannas with scattered trees.
How to spot
Look for its white throat and breast, contrasting with a dark grey head and olive-grey back, and a pale yellow belly. It has a black bill and often a hidden orange crown patch. Listen for its distinctive, often buzzing or chattering calls.
