Where to spot
Forests and forest edges on Bougainville Island (Papua New Guinea) and Choiseul Island (Solomon Islands).
How to spot
Identify by its large size, dark plumage, and especially its prominent pale eyes. Listen for its distinctive starling calls.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best observed during daylight hours, often in the canopy.
