The Wakatobi White-eye is a recently recognized species endemic to the Wakatobi Islands off Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is a small, bright yellowish-green bird with a prominent white eye-ring.
Where to spot
Endemic to the Wakatobi Islands (Wangiwangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, Binongko) in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, inhabiting forests and cultivated areas.
How to spot
Look for small, bright, active birds with a white eye-ring, often moving in small groups through the foliage. Their calls are typical white-eye chirps and trills.
When to spot
Active year-round, especially during early mornings and late afternoons when foraging.
