Vigors's Sunbird is a vibrant species endemic to the Western Ghats of India. Males display iridescent green, blue, and a prominent red breast band. It inhabits evergreen forests.
Where to spot
Endemic to the Western Ghats mountain range in southwestern India, inhabiting evergreen forests and sholas.
How to spot
Search for it in flowering trees and shrubs within its forest habitat. Its vibrant colors are a good identification feature. Listen for its high-pitched calls.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best observed during morning and late afternoon foraging bouts. Look for it when flowering plants are abundant.
