Spotted
The Sunda Thrush is a rather plain-looking thrush native to the Sunda Islands. It is generally brown with some pale scaling on the underparts, blending well into its forest habitat.
Where to spot
Humid montane forests and dense woodlands on Sumatra, Java, and Bali.
How to spot
Search the forest floor in dense, humid forests, where it forages for invertebrates. It can be reclusive, so quiet observation and listening for subtle movements are recommended.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most active during the cooler parts of the day, particularly early morning and late evening.
