The Stripe-breasted Rhabdornis is an endemic species to the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It is characterized by its streaked breast and active foraging.

Endemic to the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. Inhabits lowland and montane primary and secondary forests.
How to spot
Look for its streaked breast, long decurved bill, and generally brownish plumage. It often forages by creeping up tree trunks and branches, probing into bark crevices. Its movements can be rapid and agile.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Active during the day. Can be observed throughout the year.
This species is a good indicator of healthy forest ecosystems within its limited range on Mindanao.
