The Striolated Tit-Spinetail is a small, active ovenbird with subtle streaking on its crown and back. It inhabits montane forests and shrublands in the Andes.
Where to spot
Humid montane forests and elfin forests, as well as high-altitude shrublands, in the Andes of Colombia and Venezuela. Found at mid to high elevations.
How to spot
Listen for its characteristic high-pitched, often accelerating trill. Look for it foraging actively in the canopy and mid-story of stunted trees and dense bushes, often in mixed flocks.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most active during the morning. Its vocalizations are more pronounced during the breeding season.
