Where to spot
Found along the Pacific slope from southwestern Costa Rica and Panama south through Colombia and Ecuador to northwestern Peru. Inhabits mangroves, riparian areas, coastal scrub, and agricultural fields near water.
How to spot
Look for its pure white throat and breast, contrasting with a dark head and back, and a yellowish belly. It has a relatively long tail. Listen for its distinctive, often harsh calls.

Resident year-round within its coastal range. Most active during the morning and late afternoon.
