Where to spot
Found in West and Central Africa, primarily inhabiting primary and secondary rainforests, forest edges, and clearings with tall trees.
How to spot
Look for its glossy black plumage and moderately forked tail. It often perches high in the canopy, but can be seen in the mid-story. Listen for its diverse vocalizations, which include harsh notes and occasional mimicry.
When to spot
Active during daylight hours, observable year-round. Often more vocal in the early morning and late afternoon.
