Spotted
The Seychelles Warbler is a remarkable conservation success story, having recovered from near extinction. This small, active warbler is endemic to a few islands in the Seychelles.
Where to spot
Endemic to a few islands in the Seychelles, particularly Cousin, Cousine, Aride, Denis, and Frégate islands, inhabiting dense native vegetation, especially Pisonia grandis forest.
How to spot
Visit the designated nature reserves on the Seychelles islands where it has been translocated. It is often quite approachable and active in the canopy and undergrowth, making it relatively easy to spot.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Easily observed throughout the day on the islands where it occurs, often quite confiding in protected areas.

In the 1960s, the population plummeted to just 26 individuals on a single island. Intensive conservation efforts, including translocations, have dramatically increased its numbers and range.
