How to spot
Scan flowering trees and look for small, active birds. Its calls are generally soft and not easily heard, so patient visual observation is important.
When to spot
Active year-round. Most easily spotted during the day when foraging for nectar and insects among the foliage.
It is often found foraging quietly in the middle and upper strata of the forest, sometimes joining mixed-species foraging flocks to increase foraging efficiency and protection.
