The Arabian Accentor is a range-restricted passerine bird found in the rugged mountainous terrain of the Arabian Peninsula. It is a secretive species, often blending seamlessly with its rocky environment.
Where to spot
High-altitude areas of the Sarawat Mountains in southwestern Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia, Yemen), particularly in rocky wadis, juniper scrub, and terraced agricultural areas.
How to spot
This species is typically shy and can be difficult to spot. Look for movements on the ground among rocks or low shrubs. Its subtle streaking provides good camouflage.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Early morning and late afternoon are often the most active periods for foraging.
