Where to spot
Endemic to the Philippines, found on various islands including Luzon, Mindanao, and Mindoro. Prefers primary and mature secondary lowland forests.
How to spot
Search the forest canopy for movement and flashes of blue. Listen for their varied, sometimes flute-like calls. They often visit fruiting trees.
When to spot
Year-round. Like other fairy-bluebirds, they are most active during the cooler parts of the day, particularly foraging in the early morning and late afternoon.
