A relatively plain sunbird, the Mouse-brown Sunbird has dull mouse-brown upperparts and paler underparts, lacking the bright colors of most sunbirds. It has a slightly decurved bill.

Found along the coast of West and Central Africa, from Senegal to Angola, primarily inhabiting mangroves, coastal thickets, and riparian vegetation.
