Found in lowland rainforests, forest edges, and cultivated areas across New Guinea, the Maluku Islands (Indonesia), and some adjacent smaller islands.

Look for pairs or small groups in the canopy of tall trees. Listen for their sharp, squeaky calls, which often betray their presence before they are seen. They can be shy and remain well-hidden by foliage.

Most active during the early morning and late afternoon hours as they forage for seeds, fruits, and flowers. They are usually resident year-round within their range.
