The Molokai Creeper was an extinct Hawaiian honeycreeper, endemic to the island of Molokai. It was a small, active bird with an olive-green back and a buffy-yellow breast, known for its insectivorous diet.
Where to spot
Historically endemic to the high-elevation native forests of Molokai, Hawaii.
How to spot
Observation is no longer possible. Historical accounts described it as a nimble bird, actively gleaning insects from branches and foliage, often in mixed foraging flocks.
When to spot
Last definitively observed in 1963. It is considered extinct and is no longer observable.
This species was one of the many Hawaiian forest birds that succumbed to habitat loss, introduced diseases, and invasive species following human settlement.
