Found in lowland rainforests, forest edges, and cultivated areas across New Guinea and some Indonesian islands like Salawati and Waigeo.

Look for its overall green plumage and relatively robust build. Scan fruiting trees, especially fig trees. Listen for its high-pitched, rather indistinct calls.
When to spot
Active during daylight hours, often seen in small flocks foraging quietly in fruiting trees. Most visible in early morning and late afternoon.
