Endemic to the montane forests of Mount Kupe in southwestern Cameroon.
How to spot
Requires dedicated search efforts within its very limited, often mist-shrouded habitat. Listen for any unique vocalizations, though these are rarely documented. Its plumage is likely olive-green, blending into the forest.
When to spot
Observation is highly opportunistic due to its extreme rarity and restricted range. Active during daylight.
The Kupe Bushshrike is considered one of Africa's rarest birds, with its entire global population restricted to a single mountain range, making it highly vulnerable to habitat loss.
