The Himalayan Bush Warbler is a small, dull-colored warbler with brownish upperparts and a pale underside. It is a secretive resident of dense vegetation in mountainous regions.
Where to spot
Inhabits dense undergrowth, scrub, and forest edges in montane habitats across parts of the Himalayas and Southeast Asia.
How to spot
Listen for its distinctive, often short and explosive song, which is typically repeated. It is very shy, so finding a good listening spot is often more productive than trying to spot it visually.
When to spot
Observable year-round in its resident high-altitude range. Most vocal during the breeding season (spring/summer).
