Hose's Broadbill is a stunning broadbill, predominantly bright green with a blue wash on its belly, a black ear patch, and a distinct blue shoulder patch. It is endemic to Borneo.
Where to spot
Humid montane forests at higher elevations on the island of Borneo.
How to spot
Look for it quietly foraging in the sub-canopy and mid-story of montane forests. Its distinct calls are a series of short whistles and trills. It can be quite elusive.
When to spot
Year-round. Most active during the day.

Hose's Broadbill is named after Charles Hose, a British colonial administrator and zoologist. Its striking blue coloration helps distinguish it from other green broadbills.
