A relatively plain sunbird, the Grey Sunbird has greyish-olive upperparts and paler greyish underparts, often with a yellow wash on the belly. It has a moderately curved bill.
Where to spot
Found in coastal regions of Southeast Africa, from Mozambique to South Africa, inhabiting coastal forests, woodlands, and dense thickets.
How to spot
Look for it in the mid-story of forests and dense vegetation, often visiting flowering plants. Its drab greyish plumage is the key identification feature. Listen for its high-pitched, buzzing calls.

Active year-round, often seen throughout the day.
