Gillett's Lark is a pale, ground-dwelling lark found in arid scrub and stony plains of the Horn of Africa. Its plumage is well-suited for camouflage in its harsh environment.

Arid and semi-arid scrubland, stony plains, and degraded grasslands in the Horn of Africa (e.g., Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya).
How to spot
Scan open, barren ground for subtle movements. Its cryptic coloration makes it hard to spot, so listening for its soft, melodious song is often helpful.
