Spotted
The Little Grey Flycatcher (*Bradornis comitatus*) is a small, slender African flycatcher with plain grey plumage and a somewhat paler belly. It has a relatively long tail and an upright posture.
Where to spot
Widespread across West and Central Africa, inhabiting a variety of wooded habitats including forest edges, clearings, secondary growth, and savannas with scattered trees.
How to spot
Look for its uniform grey plumage and slender build. Watch for its characteristic flycatching behavior from an exposed perch, often returning to the same spot. Listen for its soft, high-pitched calls.
When to spot
Resident throughout much of its range, active year-round. It is often observed throughout the day, perching prominently and actively foraging.
Despite its 'little' and 'grey' name, this species is highly active and can be seen constantly sallying from perches to catch insects.
