A small, somewhat plain apalis with olive-green upperparts, a greyish head, and pale underparts, known for its localized distribution.
Where to spot
Montane evergreen forests, especially dense undergrowth and mid-strata, specifically in the Chirinda Forest in eastern Zimbabwe.
How to spot
Difficult to observe due to its secretive nature and dense habitat. Focus on listening for its distinctive, often high-pitched, rapid, and buzzing song, which is the main clue to its presence.
