Where to spot
Inhabits the understory of humid foothill and lower montane forests on the eastern slopes of the Andes from Colombia to Bolivia.
How to spot
Listen for its distinctive, often high-pitched, ticking calls. Patience is key, as they are very skulking and blend into the leaf litter.

Year-round resident. Most active during the early morning and late afternoon.
