Where to spot
Widespread across Central and South America, from Honduras to Bolivia and Argentina, in humid lowland and montane forests.
How to spot
Look for it in the mid-story and understory of humid forests, often as part of mixed-species flocks. Its buffy brow is a key identification feature. Listen for its distinctive, often repeated, calls.
When to spot
Active year-round. Most active and vocal during early mornings.
