Where to spot
Inhabits moist montane forests and cloud forests at higher elevations across the central highlands of New Guinea.
How to spot
Look for its overall green plumage with fine barring on the back and abdomen. Listen for its distinctive, rapid 'tsik-tsik-tsik' calls, often given in flight or while feeding in the canopy.
When to spot
Most active during early mornings and late afternoons when foraging for seeds, fruits, and nectar. They are resident birds.
