A large and relatively robust rhabdornis species, endemic to a limited range in the Philippines. It shares the characteristic tree-creeping foraging style of its genus.
Where to spot
Humid montane forests of Negros and Panay islands in the Philippines, typically at higher elevations.
How to spot
Look for a larger rhabdornis species clinging to or ascending tree trunks and large branches. Its size and location help differentiate it from other rhabdornis species.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best sought during daylight hours within its restricted habitat.
