The Usambara Thrush is a rare and localized thrush endemic to the Usambara Mountains of Tanzania. It is a rather plain, medium-sized thrush of dense montane forests.

Endemic to the humid montane evergreen forests of the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania, primarily in undisturbed areas.
How to spot
Requires quiet observation in dense montane forests. It can be shy, so patience is key. Listening for its calls and song, which are often heard at dawn, is helpful.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Active during early mornings and late afternoons. More vocal during the breeding season.
