Endemic to the islands of Timor, Semau, and Rote in the Lesser Sunda Islands, typically found in various forested habitats, including mangroves and eucalypt woodlands.
How to spot
Look in trees with ripe fruit, particularly figs. Listen for their chattering calls and watch for small, active flocks moving through the canopy. They are often less shy than other orioles.

Year-round resident. Best observed when fruit trees are in season, as they will congregate to feed.
