Where to spot
Arid and semi-arid grasslands, stony plains, rocky slopes, and open woodlands across Southwestern Europe, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East.
How to spot
Look for its crest and walk on open ground. Pay close attention to its vocalizations (often harsher than Crested Lark) and finer plumage details for identification.
When to spot
Observable year-round, more vocal during the breeding season (spring/summer).
