Spotted
The Yellow-throated Fulvetta is a small, active bird of Asian montane forests, recognizable by its duller plumage with subtle yellow on the throat and sometimes a pale eye-ring. It often joins mixed-species foraging flocks.
Where to spot
Found in the Himalayas and mountains of Southeast Asia, including parts of Nepal, India, China, Myanmar, and Vietnam. It inhabits montane broadleaf and evergreen forests.
How to spot
Look for its small size and subtle yellow throat. Listen for its high-pitched, tinkling, or buzzing calls, often given as it moves through the canopy. Search for it within mixed-species foraging flocks.
When to spot
Active year-round in its resident montane habitat. Most vocal during the breeding season. Best observed during the cooler parts of the day, particularly early mornings.
