Where to spot
Found in parts of Southeast Asia, including the Himalayas, northeastern India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, inhabiting evergreen and moist deciduous forests, often at higher altitudes.
How to spot
Look for its dark body and especially the white spots on the wings, which are visible in flight and when perched. Scan the canopy of fruiting trees.
When to spot
Active during daylight hours, especially in the morning and late afternoon. It can be found year-round in its resident range, with some altitudinal movements.
